Matt Smith was born in San Diego, CA. He is married to his wife Rebecca and they have three beautiful girls together. Matt has a passion for preaching the Word of God as well as for apologetics. He currently holds the following degrees.

Paul Rochford

Paul grew up in California which is where he also received his education. He received his Bachelors in Biblical Studies along with his Masters in Religion, Biblical Studies and Divinity from Southern California Seminary. He is currently perusing his Masters of Theology degree from there as well. He is married to his wife Julia, enjoys the outdoors and has a heart for the people in the church.

Matt has served in youth ministry for over 10 years. Beginning as a youth intern at Lamar Baptist Church and Park Springs Bible Church, he then served as Youth Minister at the First Baptist Church of Cleburne, Texas for over three years. In 2008, Matt moved to California to begin working as the Youth Minister at Barabbas Road Church where he continues to serve. He has a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University and is currently working towards his Masters in Biblical Studies at SoCal Seminary. He is married to Alison, has a crazy dog named Norman, is spectacular at FIFA Soccer, and is passionate about equipping young people to follow Christ.
Melissa Hyde

Melissa, a native of Florida and graduate of Florida State University, has a bachelors degree in Psychology/Child Development and a passion for early education and teaching children. She and her husband, Joe (a Navy helicopter pilot), relocated to San Diego in April 2011 and found Barabbas Road Church as an answered prayer in July of that year. Raised in a Christian home and the daughter of two teachers, Melissa grew up knowing the bible but her faith grew drastically when she came to Barabbas. With 4 years experience working with children, both professionally and voluntarily, she is excited to finally be doing what she loves while serving the church and glorifying the Lord!

Brett, a native of Wisconsin and a graduate of the University Of Wisconsin Stevens Point, holds a bachelor's degree in Business. He has worked in the design, web development and multimedia industry for over 9 years and was the CEO of BK3creative in San Diego, CA. He has served in the BRC media ministry since the churches inception in 2007. Brett has a passion to master media platforms in order to bring the congregation of Barabbas Road to disciple-making, the community to church, and the world to Christ. He is married to his wife Kari, has an asian leopard named Israel, loves to surf and has a heart for building up the body of BRC.
