What are 2:42 Groups?
242 groups are small gatherings usually around 5-10 people who meet in homes on a weekly basis. These groups are open to anyone who wants to go. The purpose for the groups is discipleship. Discipleship is the process of learning to live more and more like Christ. In the groups you will find the opportunity to build lasting relationships and encouragement as you share in life together.
Why 2:42 Groups?
In the Bible the book of Acts gives an historical account of the early Christian church. Specifically in Acts 2:42 it describes four activities that were practiced, teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayers. These four activities take place each time the groups gather and are intended to be uplifting practices to help the Christian grow.
What To Expect
Each group has it's own personality but on the whole you can expect to find a group of people who have decided to follow Jesus talking about life. The groups are friendly and enjoyable gatherings with times to talk about more serious issues as well. The main topic of discussion each week is the previous Sunday's sermon. The group revisits the message and talks about it's implications for their life.
